La Dolce Vegan is a small cookie company situated in the beautiful Adirondack mountains of New York State. In this idyllic setting, we bake our vegan cookies out of the best ingredients we can find. Our goal in baking our cookies is to make delicious treats that are indistinguishable from "traditional" cookies. Unlike many vegan cookie companies, we don't endeavor to make our cookies healthy by adding brans or odd grains or unusual sweeteners. When the recipes were developed, the idea was to make as few changes as possible to popular traditional recipes so that everyone, vegan and nonvegan alike, could enjoy them together. No longer do vegans have to bring their own "special" dessert to dinner parties that no one else will eat. Don't tell the nonvegans -- they will never be able to tell the difference!

All our cookies are baked on the premises of the Misty Mountain Bakery Cafe which is a casual cafe in the Adirondacks. It is not a vegan or vegetarian cafe. It is not feasible in this remote & economically-challenged area of NY state to serve organic foods that are priced much higher than the residents here can afford. In the summer, with the mass influx of tourists from the city, the cafe will offer a more eclectic variety of fresh & funky salads and sandwiches to appeal to a wider audience.
